Things have been most definitely nuts. Sorry I've not done much, I've been too busy doing things.
1. The band has a new gig in two weeks. I am so not ready..... Hours of practice every night!
2. Got e-mails from an old friend who now lives in the states. He's coming over in September, and we're talking about a reunion.
3. Work is absolutely crazy, we're bombed. We had one quiet day this week, where we simply breated out a few times and eat lunch on time and hot for once.
Now number 2 is an odd situation. There was a huge falling out between me and some friends (not the pseudo-american). I've not spoken to some of these people since the bust up. I've just e-mailed one of the fallen out ones, in the hope of burying the hatchet, this time not in my back. I guess someone had to make the first move, so I figured it'd be me.
Now I've done it, I actually feel relieved. If nothing comes of it, I've tried. And I'll still be able to keep in touch with the guy in America and meet up for a drink if nothing else...

It's his birthday in three days.
I will write a poem for him, in the hope he might just see it...
Anyone who's got this fella as a friend will instantly know who I'm talking about. And, if they're a soppy shit like me, will be missing him.
He was one of my earliest friends on here, and has never failed to make me think, smile or laugh. Sometimes all three at the same time.
You know, maybe I'll simply leave this up instead of a poem.
And link back to it in three days.

Have you ever met an overprotective Jewish Mother? The kind who runs round to everyone with pans of chicken soup whenever the slightest illness shows signs, regardless of the risk to their own health. I have one, and I love her for it. She's got no kids of her own, so has adopted me and all my friends, and bakes continually.
Well tonight Matthew, I got to be a Jewish Mother.
We let the cat outdoors for the first time today. He's been a house cat since we got him three years ago. Not through choice, we just always lived in environments where he'd end up squished.
Now, we have a garden, and cats live in peace and happiness. We've had all his vaccinations done. And let him out. And managed to hold off for a total of one minute as he sauntered through the hedge at the back of the nature reserve Garden.
He's still with us and didn't run off, despite me pulling my best Jewish mother. "But he's going to get himself lost in that really large garden at the back!" I cried. To which he continued to chew grass happily and chase the next door neighbours cat around. Bully.
Am going to do this again tomorrow. Eventally I'll peel myself off the roof for a while and leave him out all day while I'm at work. But not yet dammit, he's not had his barmitzvah, and his trust fund is yet to mature. Maybe in about another ten or so years.
